The Spawn Kill sports team is back for yet another episode of The Away Team. As always Gabe (Lethalwraith) and I (Eric) will be discussing the games we’ve been playing which includes Halo Reach, ModNation Racers for the PSP, God of War 3 and some Lucha Libre. We then tell you everything we know about Madden 11 and prepare the New Orleans fans for a rough year. Finally for our main topic we discuss sports games that don’t have an official license. With the upcoming game Backbreaker and the ever growing Quick Hit Football browser game companies seem to be willing to make sports games without the official license. We talk about whether some of these games can compete with a fully licensed product like a Pro Evolution Soccer can and what, if any, is a benefit of not having a license. Check it out to see what we think and let us know what you think in the comments.

podcastimage1Look out sports fans!  We’re bringing you episode one of The Away Team Podcast!  This brand new sports podcast is hosted by our Lead Sports Writer The Herp (Eric) and he is joined by a fellow sports game aficionado Lethalwraith (Gabe).  In this first episode they’ll talk a little bit about what they’ve been playing which includes Tiger Woods Online, Vancouver Winter Olympics and give you a preview of MLB 10 The Show.  They also look at some of the latest headlines around the virtual sports world as well as the occasional attempted patricide with a 15 inch butcher knife over backseat gaming. You’ll also get their opinion on whether or not sports games would benefit from not having to release a new title every year.  So come in, pull up a chair, and join us in discussing the ever competitive world of video games sports.

As stated in the podcast if you are interested in joining a Spawn Kill Madden Franchise League on PS3 or if you just want to challenge the cast send a message to their gamertags: TheHerp80 and Lethalwraith.
