Champions Online is getting the ball rolling with opening the curtain on a couple of subscription plans geared towards anyone who plans on being in for the long haul. An interview spotted over at G4 sheds light on the possibility of X-Wing and Tie Fighter games making a return, with an announcement somewhere in the near future. In less exciting news, ASCARON, developers of Sacred 2 have been forced to shutter due to bankruptcy. Finally, Nation Red, a top down zombie slaughter game is now available in demo form, and up for purchase.

What you would normally expect to only grace your PCs with a gentle keyboard stroke wielding you nothing short of a massive fireball, has now washed up ashore to our home consoles with Sacred 2’s recent release on both the Xbox 360 and the Playstation 3. It is rather infrequent that a developer dares to strip this style game from it’s PC roots and set foot on a console, though Ascaron Entertainment took on that challenge. I was nothing less than pleased to have a go at Sacred 2. Those who will never own a “super computer” to really get to enjoy these types of games, this is your time to shine. A solid, well-put together experience has been constructed just for that type of gamer for a change.

A batch of new high res screenshots were released this week of the once-PC-now-gone-Xbox 360 upcoming RPG Sacred 2. A showcase of different enemies you will encounter like that beastly yet attractive young arachnid to your right. The environments are full of variety and it seems you’ll be exploring quite a number of beautiful lands with your fill of some hacking, some slashing, dungeons, and er… polar bears? I don’t think you’ll be slashing off it’s head and parading around with it as your battle trophy in this one though, don’t worry PETA…
