Play with Breaking Benjamin on Guitar Hero; Track Pack Available
Posted by Eric "TheHerp" Galaviz on February 12th, 2010
Now available for Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero are three songs from alternative metal rockers Breaking Benjamin. The band made their debut in 2002 with their critically-acclaimed album Saturate. But you won’t be getting any songs from that album. Instead you will be getting a track off of their second and third album along with the band’s newest single. The Breaking Benjamin Track Pack features “Sooner or Later” from the 2004 album We Are Not Alone, “Until The End” from the album Phobia and “Give Me A Sign” from their recently released Dear Agony Album.
As an added bonus for downloading the new tracks, you’ll have the opportunity to play with the band over Xbox Live on February 20th from 1-3pm EST. You will have to download the tracks in order to play with Breaking Benjamin and those who do you’ll want to look for their Gamertag: BBGWF. Click here for more information on the Game with Fame featuring Breaking Benjamin.
The Breaking Benjamin Track Pack is out now via Xbox LIVE Marketplace for 440 Microsoft Points, from the PlayStation Store for $5.49 and the Wii Shop Channel for 550 Wii Points. The three songs are also available for individual purchase 60 Microsoft Points, $1.99 and 200 Wii Points each.

Did you know that Gene Simmons’ tongue is over seven inches long? I’m not joking. Look it up. They measured it once.

In our latest display of Risky Business, Hugh Hefner brings his bunnies to rock hard. Who looks better in their tighty whiteys than the bunnies? Hugh brings an entire cavalry of them to take over the famous Risky Business scene in the latest Guitar Hero 5 advertisement. Hit the jump for the 30 second TV spot. I still feel that Michael Phelps and his crew were the most powerful Risky Businessers!
As two of my favorite Nirvana songs have been announced as part of the Guitar Hero 5 track list, Lithium and Smells Like Teen Spirit (How long have we been waiting for this? About 5 games…?), Activision has also revealed that Kurt Cobain will be a playable rocker amongst some of the other
For a limited time, if you buy Guitar Hero 5 and you submit the unique game code with the game, a receipt of your purchase, and some sticker on the GH5 packaging, you will receive Guitar Hero: Van Halen for free before it’s out in stores. Submissions must be postmarked by October 31, 2009, but if supplies are limited, it’s advisable you do this quickly after GH5 hits store shelves on September 1.
The main man, the man in black, the legendary inspiration Johnny Cash is officially going to be making a star appearance in Guitar Hero 5 when it releases on September 1st. He has been remembered and tributed in CG to deliver to you a trailer of his arrival. Check out my favorite (and probably only link to my interest in country music) hero in all his glory in the trailer below.

Adding to the known setlist of 85 songs in Guitar Hero 5, Activision has revealed twenty four more songs that will be in the game. Among these songs are some re-recorded tracks like “Bring the Noise 20XX” by Public Enemy and unreleased singles such as AFI’s “Medicate” that will soon appear on their new album, Crush Love. Activision also mentions many of the bands featured in Guitar Hero 5 have never been in a rhythm game before, such as A Perfect Circle and Grand Funk Railroad.
To keep its owners entertained for even longer, Guitar Hero 5 will offer song challenges for each track, which are additional goals that when achieved, will unlock new items like clothes and instruments. Each challenge will have gold, platinum, and diamond levels so that gamers will be inclined to keep playing to get more and more. This system completely replaces the cash system of previous Guitar Hero titles. Beating the different tiers of challenges will also add more stars to your score on songs.
