AfrikaWhen speaking to Mika Kelly, a representative of Natsume’s (finally!) upcoming PS3 wildlife montage, Afrika informed me today that originally scheduled for a September 29th release date in North America, a few of the giraffes have decided to take an extra long vacation to the watering hole, making Afrika slip back a week with an official October 6th release date. No poachers allowed.

AfrikaThe default PS3 theme we all know is less than impressive, and rather lazy by just rehashing it’s little sister handheld’s main menu. For a console that is more than capable of incorporating and promoting an interactive or adaptive interface, it should have came off like that out of box. But alas it did not, although, it has a saving grace by allowing many stellar themes on PSN, many for free.

The latest release with the big firmware upgrade to 3.0 last week came with a new dynamic theme for the Natsume’s upcoming photo-snapping escapade, Afrika. Who doesn’t want HD zebra bottoms parading around their PS3 menu? Hit the jump for a video capture of the theme in action. Let me not remind you of the free-ness that accompanies this theme.
