There really isn’t a game hero out there as intense as Isaac Clarke. Severing limbs is the guy’s primary pastime. He braved the horrors of the Ishimura, lost all of his crew, and lost his sanity, yet he’s still ready to go out and crack some skulls. In this newest Dead Space 2 video, Isaac expands his palette of badassery into something like a zero-gravity HALO jump. Check it out.

Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow made a pretty big impact on the PSP scene after its 2007 release. I can only assume that the extremely warm reception the original title received (ranging from Game of the Year and Editor’s Choice awards from many publications) was the primary focus behind bringing the portable game to the PS2. With that being said, there is an inherent downside to bringing a portable game to a home console; this is to say nothing of a game nearly three years old.

Free Music from Shank

Posted by Kevin "K-Tuck" Tucker on August 5th, 2010

Klei Entertainment, the developer behind the upcoming PSN/XBLA/PC game Shank, has already given gamers more than enough reason to be excited about their polished-looking title. Now, they are giving even more. Available from The Official Shank Blog, a single piece from the game’s soundtrack is now available free for download.

The developer had also planned to promote its Facebook page for Shank by promising that if the game could get 1,500 fans, they would release the entire soundtrack. Seeing that their goal was hit almost immediately, the full soundtrack to Shank (scored by Vince De Vera) will be available for free download in the very near future.

Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer of the studio, was more than happy to oblige. Review: DeathSpank

Posted by Kevin "K-Tuck" Tucker on July 22nd, 2010

I have the feeling that DeathSpank is going to appeal to a lot of old-school gamers. Too many modern-era games try to deliver a serious, intense, epic, and dramatic story with multitudes of plot twists, betrayals, and the like. DeathSpank goes the complete opposite direction. Full of crisp visuals and irreverent humor, the latest from Ron Gilbert and Hothead Games delivers what many gamers want, but not necessarily what they might expect.

Review: ModNation Racers

Posted by Kevin "K-Tuck" Tucker on July 13th, 2010

One of my primary concerns with games that put a huge focus on player-created content pertains to the medium with which said content can be utilized. Can a title actually deliver both an expansive set of creation tools and solid gameplay that makes the crafting worthwhile? The team behind ModNation Racers definitely had this goal in mind, though they expectedly fell a bit short of one those two major concepts.

Red Dead Redemption has been an enormous hit for the games industry, and it’s no secret why: players can do whatever they choose in the untamed old West setting. Recent information from games site Gamespy has displayed very specific statistics taken from user gameplay during the first two weeks after the game’s release. Among the information are tidbits like total log time, total alcohol consumed, and in-game murder counts. The results are pretty interesting.
