Sonic Colors Pre-Order Bonus and New Gameplay Trailer

We’ve all been burned before in the past by Sonic the Hedghehog, and so many of you may be reluctant to try out Sonic Colors in November.  The new gameplay trailer however shows a different side of Sonic that we haven’t seen since the days of the Sega Genesis.  2D meets 3D in Sonic Colors, where the game seems to be making a beeline towards its roots at lightning speed.  Even if the game play trailer isn’t enough to make you at least want to try the game, the pre-order bonus may offer the right amount of incentive.

Sonic Colors features an alien race (which you can catch a glimpse of in the trailer) called Wisps, who were abducted by Dr. Eggman.  Apparently Dr. Eggman is using the Wisps for something evil (of course, what else would he be doing?), and Sonic has to stop him.  To do this he must travel to a strange outer space theme park and use the Wisps’ unique alien powers. The game honestly looks like a step in the right direction (but who knows, it’s Sonic) and will be available on the Nintendo DS and Wii on November 16th, 2010.

And just in case you’re a serious dork and want everyone to know it, you can pre-order the game from GameStop and receive a Sonic the Hedgehog hat.  Most pre-order bonuses give you a little figurine, poster or maybe even an art book… but not SEGA.  They want you to look awesome while you play their game.  And to be honest, I really want this.
