bakIt seems to me, as someone who never experienced any of these phenomenon first-hand, that slapping a Japanese name + battling + monsters of some kind + toys + video game = Big Success.  The order in which these events may differ, with some starting off with the game and others with the TV show, etc., but in general, kids eat this stuff up.  I’m not trying to take away from games like Pokemon, as I’ve never experienced them myself, the whole phenomenon happening when I was just a little “too old” for that type of thing (or at least, that is how I perceived it at the time).  However, I won’t deny that people love games of this type, and the current cultural phenomenon that is Bakugan seems to be the latest thing, or so I’m told.

For those of you who may be anxiously awaiting the release of the first video game in the series (or who may have children who are), here are some fresh new screens for the 360, DS, and Wii versions of the game.  You might want to prepare yourself by playing a bit of the traditional game with your kids while you await the release of Bakugan: Battle Brawlers on October 20, 2009.
