Marvel vs. Capcom 2 Coming to PSN/XBLA
Gamers itching for their next fix of lightning-fast 2D fighting goodness can rejoice, because Capcom has recently announced that Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is coming to the Playstation Network on August 13, 2009. With a street date set, its only a matter of time before players can battle out their favorite characters from some of the biggest fictional universes in modern entertainment.
Touting over 50 characters playable, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is more than just an upscaled port of the original title. The new version will have the expected 3-on-3 tag team matches, but this time around players can engage in battles online against their friends. Capcom has promised an online matching mode similar to Street Fighter HD Remix’s quarter mode, creating an experience that is the closest thing a gamer can have to playing MVC2 in an arcade, only coming straight from their living room.
There isn’t much to say now that hasn’t already been said. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 was a hit in the days of its original release, and its fanbase has surely grown from that point in time. For the low price of $15 dollars US, gamers can relive their classic fighting experiences with this title just four weeks from today. For now, here are some more screenshots to salivate over.
