Halo 3: ODST Pre-order Bonus and Special Edition Details
Halo 3: ODST doesn’t come out until September but we already have details on some pre-order goodies and what gamers can expect from the Special Edition bundle. The highly anticipated shooter features a brand new campaign, telling the story of the events leading up to the first Halo from an ODST perspective. The game will also feature a Firefight mode, which is a new cooperative multiplayer game mode. In Firefight you will have to work together to fend off waves and waves of increasingly difficult enemies. To add to the difficulty random skulls will be turned on as rounds are completed.
If that wasn’t enough to entice you to get the new Halo game, Microsoft is offering up some extras for you. Upon pre-ordering the game you will get a code to use Sergeant Avery Junior Johnson in the Firefight mode. Sergeant Johnson is one of most popular characters in the Halo series. Everyone who buys the game will also get a standalone Halo 3 disc with all 24 maps included and a beta key for the recently announced Halo: Reach.
That’s a lot of stuff just for buying the game but if you are one of those people who loves Special Editions, then you won’t want to miss out on this one. The Halo 3: ODST Special Edition will come with a Special Edition controller. The wireless controller is laser etched with ODST designs. Unfortunately this deal is only available at Gamestop.

How much will each version set you back? The regular edition of ODST will retail for $59.99 and the Special Edition controller set will cost you $99.99. Some people were hoping for a lower price point but unfortunately Microsoft likes money and they know people will buy it no matter what the price is. From what I played, the game has a lot of potential. The new co-op mode is a lot of fun and is very challenging. Since you aren’t a Spartan, teamwork is definitely the key in the new ODST game. Hopefully the final version of the game will be as good as the levels shown at this years E3. Now that you know what Halo 3: ODST will cost you, which version will you be picking up come September?

Holy crap, that's actually a shit ton of goodies for $99, I actually can't complain about the price for once! That's a totally sweet limited edition bundle. I want that controller. <3 Green, but lost a lot of interest in Halo ever since Halo 3. It bombed compared to Halo 2, in my opinion.

For sure Halo 3 isnt even close to what Halo 2 was. Good thing is the ODST game is something new and you really have to learn how to play halo again. it kind of goes back to halo 1 with no dual wielding and i dont think you have regenerating health either. i might have to get he controller but i already have 4 so i have to sell one first.

Halo 3:ODST is a prequel campaign to Halo 3, not the original Halo. I believe that honor goes to Halo: Reach.
Can't believe they still haven't fixed the d-pad! And regarding price, I guess it isn't too bad, if you haven't already shelled out for the Legendary and Mythic Map Packs.

You've got to be kidding me!
That's expensive O_o
But I don't get the special edition. You get cool internal stuff for regular edition, but for special edition you get a controller:/
