silvergoldToday it was unveiled on the television show in Japan Pokémon Sunday that the newly announced remakes for the Nintendo DS Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver are going to be rewarded with a free gift known as a PokéWalker. It will be a small device colored and shaped like a Pokéball that will allow players to transfer their Pokémon to this portable device and attribute experience points and increase their happiness with the most steps you take, like a pedometer.

It seems to me like a tribute to the old Pocket Pikachu pedometers in which you would walk, shake, or sit on top of your washing machine to increase your pal’s happiness. Of course, this is probably one of Nintendo’s drives to eliminate childhood obesity, though I am sure Pokémon fans around the world in Japan will be glad to receive this freebie with open arms. Yes, currently it is only set for a Japan release.
