Dead Rising 2 Will Include Multiplayer

dead_rising_2After Laura Scholl, producer of Dead Rising 2’s Mental Mill technology, withdrew her statement made at GDC in March regarding the presence of multiplayer, Capcom’s Keiji Inafune confirmed today that Dead Rising 2 will include multiplayer. He says that gaming has come to a point at which some form of multiplayer is necessary in a game.

Inafune did not reveal the details of Dead Rising 2’s multiplayer component, although he confirmed that it would include online play.

Last month Scholl talked about having 6,000 characters on-screen in multiplayer, but she later amended her statement and said she meant “multiplatform” rather than “multiplayer.”

    This... is...AWESOME!. I loved Dead rising and am really pulling for the multiplayer to be a great addition.
  • Multiplayer is not as big a deal in such a game like Dead Rising where as co-op would actually make it so much better.

    By co-op, I do not mean some shitty integration either. Make it good, fun and story. Co-op games are more and more being done I know but it would make Dead Rising so much better. Not just split screen either, online co-op with friends. 2 player would be just fine.
